Making Great Architecture Portfolios Accessible to Everyone

We believe every architect deserves a portfolio that truly represents their design potential.

Why we built Portfolio Mentor

Every architecture student and practitioner we know has had the same experience: pouring months into a portfolio, sending it to ten firms, and hearing nothing back. The feedback loop in our profession is broken. Hiring partners do not have time to write detailed rejections, professors have moved on by the time you graduate, and friends are too kind to be honest.

We built Portfolio Mentor to close that loop. Our AI gives you the same caliber of feedback you would get from a senior partner reviewing your portfolio over coffee, except in sixty seconds, available around the clock, and at a price a student can afford.

Who we are

We are a small team of practicing architects, design educators, and AI engineers. Our reviewers and rubric advisors have worked at BIG, OMA, Snøhetta, Foster + Partners, Studio Mumbai, and Diller Scofidio + Renfro. Our engineering team has shipped large language model products at Anthropic, OpenAI, and Hugging Face.

What we believe

  • Specific feedback beats vague praise. “Beautiful work, keep it up” never helped anyone get hired. We cite pages, name drawings, and tell you exactly what to change.
  • Calibration matters. A student portfolio scored against a partner-level bar is unfairly graded. We calibrate to your candidate level so the score means something.
  • Your work belongs to you. We do not train our models on your portfolio. We do not sell your data. We do not publish your work. Ever.
  • The portfolio is the easiest thing to fix. You cannot change your project list overnight, but you can fix line weights, type hierarchy, and curatorial sequence in a weekend. We focus on the levers that move fastest.

The numbers

  • Reviews completed: 50,000+ (and counting).
  • Average score lift after one round of edits: +11 points.
  • Average time from first upload to “ready to send”: 4–6 weeks.
  • Hiring partners who use the rubric to advise their own juniors: 40+ firms across 12 countries.

What is next

We are currently building:

  • Live one-on-one review sessions with senior practitioners (in private beta).
  • Per-firm calibration (“review my portfolio specifically for SOM”).
  • Cover-letter and CV review (most-requested feature, shipping soon).
